Youth Workers in Cheshire
Help young people learn about themselves, others and society through formal and informal educational activities, which combine challenge, learning and enjoyment. They work in a variety of settings including outreach and detached youth work which is primarily street based.
Youth work includes:
- Information and counselling services, health education, physical activities and games
- Youth Achievement Awards, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, volunteering and skills training
- Ensuring young people have a voice in their community.

It’s all about Youth in Warrington
Warrington Youth Service works with local community and voluntary groups to help young people in the area and offers quality support to make sure that young people:
- Achieve, progress and develop personally and socially
- Make their voice heard
- Are not excluded from the community
- Receive all the advice and support that they need
Youth work can take place in locations including schools and colleges, youth clubs and centres, parks, shopping centres and even on the street. Warrington also has many specialist support groups set up to target individual groups of young people. Young people can also get involved with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the Warrington Youth Parliament and the IMPACT Youth Forum, or they can visit the Youth Advice Shop at Connexions @ the Gateway in Sankey Street.

UK Youth Parliament (UKYP)
The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) enables young people to use their energy and passion to change the world for the better. Run by young people for young people, UKYP provides opportunities for young people to use their voice in creative ways to bring about social change.
Young People aged 11-18 years are to be given the chance to participate in the United Kingdom Youth Parliament elections during January and February 2010, the process will be delivered through assemblies and workshops in schools, youth clubs and Connexions centres. There are 6 candidate for each area and these are named in the Manifesto's for both Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester. Please see the related news item.
